Beer Beef Potato Casserole

Ingredients
1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 large onion, sliced thin
4 large baking potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 can (12 oz.) beer

Directions
Make seasoning mixture by mixing salt, pepper and thyme together.

Shape beef into six patties and brown the patties in a large skillet; remove and set aside. Cook the onion in pan drippings until tender, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Layer half of the potato slices in a 2 quart casserole, then season with one third of the seasoning mixture. Add the beef patties, season with more of the seasoning, then add the onion. Top with the remaining potatoes and seasoning mixture.

Pour beer over all then cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Uncover and bake another 15 minutes or until the top is browned and the potatoes are tender. Serves 4 to 6.
