Candy Apples
Ingredients
10 red apples
10 wood skewers
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. red food coloring
shredded coconut (optional)
chopped nuts (optional
chocolate sprinkles (optional)
decorating sugar (optional)
Directions
Wash apples and remove stems. Insert wood skewers in stem end.
Cook sugar, syrup, water and food coloring until hard thread stage. Remove from heat and coat apples. Place on a cookie sheet to cool and harden.
Garnish quickly with shredded coconut, chopped nuts, chocolate sprinkles or decorating sugar if desired.
