Chocolate Chiffon Dessert
Ingredients
1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
2/3 cup chocolate syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup evaporated milk, chilled icy cold
Directions
Make a crust by combing the crumbs, walnuts and melted butter. Press into an 8x8x2-inch pan. Chill.
Meanwhile, soften the gelatin in the cold water. Heat the chocolate syrup then add the gelatin and stir to dissolve. Cool to room temperature. Add the vanilla.
In a chilled bowl, whip the evaporated milk. Fold in the chocolate mixture. Chill until the mixture mounds slightly when spooned. Pour over the crust. Chill until firm. Makes 9 servings.
