Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar Cookies

Ingredients
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup peanut butter, chunky or creamy
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. almond extract
2 large eggs
1/2 cup chocolate chips or disks

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9-inch metal baking pan.

In a medium size mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. In a mixer bowl at medium speed, beat the peanut butter, butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla and almond extract. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Reduce mixer speed to low and beat in the flour mixture until well combined.

Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely while still in the pan.

Melt the chocolate chips and drizzled over the cake. Allow the chocolate to set before cutting into bars. Makes about 24 bars.
