Creamed Hamburger with Mushrooms

Ingredients
3/4 lb. ground beef
1 can (4 oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained (reserve liquid)
1 tbsp. instant minced onion, softened in 1 tablespoon hot water
1 tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
pepper to taste
English muffins, split and toasted; toasted frozen waffles; hot toast; hot biscuits, split; or grits
grated parmesan cheese (optional)
minced parsley

Directions
Heat a heavy skillet. Add the beef, mushrooms and onion. Cook until the beef is well browned, stirring occasionally to break up the meat.

Stir in the flour then cook and stir for 1 minute. Stir in the milk, mushroom liquid, salt, pepper sauce and pepper. Cook and stir until slightly thickened. Serve on English muffins or other alternatives. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and minced parsley. Makes 4 servings.
