Creamy Chocolate Icing
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
3 oz. chocolate
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup evaporated milk or cream
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
sifted confectioners' sugar
Directions
Combine the brown sugar, chocolate, salt and evaporated milk or cream in a saucepan. Cover and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, then stir in the butter and vanilla. Add the sifted confectioners' sugar as needed to give spreading consistency. Beat until smooth. Makes frosting for a 9-inch layer cake.
