Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
2-1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2-1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup pecans, chopped

Directions
Mix ingredients in order given, sifting dry ingredients together. Drop 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
