Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark molasses
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup water
4-1/2 cups sifted flour

Mocha Frosting

Ingredients
2 tbsp. melted butter
4 tbsp. hot coffee
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups confectioner's sugar

Directions
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in molasses, egg, salt and vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add alternately with flour to the butter mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. Blend Mocha Frosting ingredients together and spread on hot cookies.
