Devil's Food Cake
Ingredients
6 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 egg yolks
1 cup milk
2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Directions
Cook the cocoa and water together until the mixture is thick. Allow to cool.
Combine and mix the remaining ingredients except for the egg whites. Add the cooled cocoa mixture to the cake mixture and mix thoroughly.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites until evenly mixed. Transfer the batter into layer pans or a loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the cake tests done.
