Double Frosted Bourbon Brownies

Ingredients
3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
2 tbsp. water
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
4 tbsp. bourbon
White Frosting (below)
Chocolate Glaze (below)

Directions
Sift the flour, baking soda and salt onto a sheet of waxed paper.

Combine the sugar, shortening and water in a medium size saucepan. Heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar melts and the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla until very smooth.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Stir in the flour mixture and walnuts. Spread the batter evenly in a 9-inch square greased baking pan.

Bake at 325 degrees F. for 30 minutes or until shiny and firm on the top. Remove from oven and sprinkle the bourbon over the top. Allow to cool completely.

Spread the white frosting evenly over the top then chill until firm. Spread the chocolate glaze over the frosting and chill again. Cut into squares. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Makes about 36 squares.
