German Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
1 egg, separated
2 cups flour
1-1/4 cups nut meats

Directions
Cream butter and sugar together, add the egg yolk and continue beating. Add flour and cinnamon and knead.

Spread thinly over bottom of a 15x11 inch pan, pushing dough into place with fingers as necessary. Cover with egg white beaten to a frothy foam. Press in the nuts.

Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes. Cut into squares and cool.
