Holiday Egg Nog Pie
Ingredients
2 pkg. (4 serving size) vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
2 cups egg nog
1-1/4 cups milk
1 tbsp. light rum (optional)
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
whipped topping
1 baked 9-inch pie shell, cooled
Directions
Combine the pudding mix, egg nog, milk and nutmeg in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture comes to a full bubbling boil. Remove from heat. Add the rum and cool for 5 minutes, stirring twice.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pie shell. Cover the surface of the filling with plastic wrap. Chill for at least 3 hours.
To serve: garnish with whipped topping and ground nutmeg or chopped candied fruits or pecans.
