Apple Date Cake

Ingredients
1 cup butter
1-1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup pitted chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups peeled, chopped apples

Directions
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well until fluffy. Sift the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg together and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well until blended. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes then turn the cake out onto a rack to cool completely. Serve in 2-1/4 inch wedges. This cake may be frozen for future use.
