Barbecue Sauce for Chicken #2

1/2 tsp. mace
1 cup vinegar
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. red pepper
1 small onion, chopped fine
2 cups water
4 tbsp. steak sauce
1 lemon, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp. butter

Mix all ingredients and boil for 10 minutes. Baste a chicken with this sauce.
