Caramel Cookies

1 cup butter
4 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
3 tbsp. milk
7 cups flour
1 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, cream of tartar and baking soda together. Add remaining ingredients. Mix, make in rolls and chill. Slice or roll and cut into fancy shapes.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until done. Makes 10 dozen.
