Cheese Skillet Biscuits
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. chopped chives, freeze dried
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup margarine, melted
6 ounces cheddar cheese
Directions
Cut cheese into eight 2x1x1/2-inch slices.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in chives. Add milk and margarine and mix until moistened.
Knead dough on a lightly floured surface about ten times. Pat dough out to a 12x9-inch rectangle. Place cheese slices evenly spaced on one half of the dough. Fold dough over the cheese and cut into 3x2-inch rectangles. Press edges of dough together to seal.
Place biscuits in a hot, generously greased 12-inch skillet. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Turn, cover and continue to cook for another 5 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 8 biscuits.
