Chinese Chews
1 cup sugar 3/4 cup flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup dates, chopped 1 cup English walnuts, chopped 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond extract
Sift the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt together. Add dates and walnuts to the dry ingredients. Add the beaten eggs. Flavor with vanilla and almond extract. Spread 1/4 inch thick in a baking pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. Cut while hot.
