Chocolate Fudge Cake

Ingredients
2 cups milk
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
8 squares unsweetened chocolate
2-1/4 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, separated

Directions
Using a medium sized saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until both the butter and chocolate have melted. Allow to cool.

Sift flour and baking powder together onto waxed paper. Beat egg yolks in a large bowl, then gradually add the chocolate mixture, beating until thoroughly combined. Stir in the dry ingredients.

Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold into cake batter, leaving no white streaks. Pour the batter into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes or until cake tests done. The cake may be cracked on top. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Turn cake out and allow to cool thoroughly. Cut in thin slices to serve.
