Chocolate Sundae Pie

1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup water
3 eggs, separated
1 tbsp. gelatin, soaked in 3 tbsp. cold water
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 baked pie shell

Heat milk, water and nutmeg in a double-boiler. Mix egg yolks and sugar, beat until light. Mix in salt and vanilla. Pour hot milk mixture over egg mixture. Return to double-boiler until creamy. Remove from heat. Add gelatin and allow to cool. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Fill pie shell and place in refrigerator until set.

Topping

1 pint all purpose cream
1 square chocolate, grated

Whip cream until peaks form. Spread on pie. Sprinkle grated chocolate over the top.
