Cranberry Fruit Bread

Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup orange juice
1 egg, well beaten
2 tbsp. shortening
2 tbsp. orange peel, grated
1 cup cranberries, coarsely chopped
1-1/2 cups chopped nuts

Directions
Mix together first 5 ingredients. Add orange juice, egg, shortening, orange peel to the dry ingredients. Mix well. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Turn into a 9x5 inch pan that has had only the bottom greased.

Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
