Date Pudding with Hard Sauce

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup milk
1 box dates
2 eggs
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat eggs then add sugar. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk, then add melted butter. Makes a thin batter. Pit dates, spread open and lay in a 8x12 inch pan or baking dish. Pour batter over. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Hard Sauce

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 tbsp. butter

Beat eggs and sugar together. Heat, then add milk. Cook over low heat while stirring constantly. When thick remove from heat and add butter. Add brandy or rum to taste. Serve warm.
