Devil’s Food Cake
6 tbsp. cocoa 1 cup water 2 cups sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 2 egg yolks 1 cup milk 2-1/2 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Cook cocoa and water until thick.. Let cool while mixing remaining ingredients (except for egg whites). Add cocoa mixture to cake mixture and mix. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in a slow oven in layer pans or a loaf pan.
