Devil’s Food High Sierra Pie

One 8-inch pastry shell, baked
Vanilla pastry cream or packaged baked pudding and pie mix
One 8-inch Devil's Food cake layer
Raspberry preserves
Whipped cream or dessert topping

Fill 8-inch pastry shell with vanilla pastry cream or prepared packaged baked pudding and pie mix.

Split 8-inch Devil's Food Cake layer. Place one layer cut side down on top of pie filling. Spread top of cake layer with raspberry preserves. Cover top and sides with whipped cream or dessert topping forced through a star point in pastry tube. Make shell edge around top. Hold over tray of cake crumbs and put crumbs on around lower edge of pie.
