Divinity

Ingredients
5 cups sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup cold water
4 egg whites, beaten stiff
nuts if desired

Directions
Combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook while stirring constantly until a small amount dropped in cold water forms a soft ball. Pour half of mixture onto stiffly beaten egg whites. Cook the rest of the mixture until it spins a thread. Beat into the egg white mixture, adding nuts if desired.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a buttered platter.
