Firemen’s Peanut Brittle
2/3 cup white corn syrup 2 cups white sugar 2 cups raw peanuts 1/8 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda (make sure there are no lumps)
Place syrup and sugar in a skillet and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Over medium heat, add peanuts and salt then cook until the mixture is a light brown color. Stir in the baking soda.
Pour onto a well greased baking sheet. Allow to cool then break into pieces. Store in a tightly covered container.
