Flaky Pie Crust
4 cups flour 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 1-3/4 cups solid shortening 1 egg 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/2 cup water
Sift together flour, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening until pea size (small). In a separate bowl combine egg, vinegar and water. Stir into the dry ingredients with a fork until blended (do not beat) and mixture forms into a ball. Roll out on a well floured surface. Makes enough dough for 2 double crust pies or 4 single crusts.
