Fresh Fruit Cake #2

Ingredients
2 oranges, including rind, seeded and cut into quarters
2 ripe bananas, peeled and cut into pieces
2 apples, cored and cut into quarters
2 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
3 cups flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
candied cherries, cut in half for garnishing (optional)

Directions
Puree the oranges in an electric blender until the rind is finely chopped. Set aside. Mash the bananas and dice the apples into small pieces.

Beat the eggs in a large bowl, then gradually add the sugar and beat after each addition and until the mixture is thick and pale. Beat in the butter and add the oranges and bananas.

Stir together the dry ingredients. Beat into the first mixture, then add the apples, raisins and walnuts.

Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan or into 2 loaf pans. If desired, garnish with the cherries before baking.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until the cake tests done with a toothpick.
