Ing’s Squares
1/4 cup butter 2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs, separated 1 cup nuts 1-1/2 cups flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla
Mix like cake. Cream 1 cup brown sugar with butter. Blend in egg yolks. Add flour and baking powder after sifting. Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Pat into a 9x9-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with nuts. Beat egg whites stiff and add the remaining cup of brown sugar with 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Spread over nuts.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Allow to cool then cut into squares.
