Privacy Policy Statement
This is the personal web site of Linda Gerfen.
Log Files
Like most standard web site servers I use log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.), internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages (how you arrived at a page and which page you last viewed), platform type (PC, Mac, etc.), date and time of your visit, and number of clicks in order to analyze trends, administer the site, track a visitor's movement in the aggregate, and to gather broad demographic information for site improvement use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to any personally identifiable information. In other words, collecting this information poses no threat to you or your computer equipment.
- For each visitor to my web pages, my web server automatically recognizes no information regarding you or your e-mail address. In simple terms, I do not know who you are nor do I know how to reach you.
- I do collect information on which pages are accessed or visited, as well as how you found the page (other web sites, search engines, etc.). This is mostly a curiosity thing.
- The information that is collected is used for internal review and is then used to improve the content of my web pages and to add more content that I believe is of interest to you.
Cookies
With respect to cookies: If my web server sets a cookie, it would only be used to determine if you are a new or returning visitor to my web pages. I get a good feeling knowing there are visitors that like my site enough to keep coming back.
Advertisements
With respect to Ad Servers: In order to try and bring you offers that are of interest to you and to help with the expenses involved in the operation of my web sites, I have relationships with other companies that I allow to place ads on my Web pages. As a result of your visit to my site, ad server companies may collect information such as your domain type, your IP address and clickstream information. From time to time, I may decide to use visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in my privacy notice. If these information practices change at some time in the future I will post the policy changes to my web site to notify you of these changes and I will use for these new purposes only data collected from the time of the policy change forward. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at my web site periodically. Please keep in mind that a change of this nature is highly unlikely, but my crystal ball broke a very long time ago and I cannot foresee the future.
