Rolled Sugar Cookies
4 cups sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 cup shortening or butter 1 cup sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. baking soda 1/3 cup milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla
Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in shortening as for a pie crust. In another bowl add baking soda to sugar. Blend and add eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour this into flour mixture and mix until smooth. Roll out on a floured board and cut to desired shapes. Sprinkle sugar over tops.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
