Strawberry Ice Cream
Note: No ice cream maker needed
1 pint fresh strawberries, mashed -or- 1 package (16 oz.) of frozen whole unsweetened strawberries, thawed and mashed 3/4 cup sugar 1 can evaporated milk 2 tsp. lemon juice
Pour milk into a large bowl and freeze until ice crystals form along edges. Beat chilled mixture until foamy. Mix in sugar, berries and lemon juice. Beat until mixture doubles in size. Pour in a 9-inch square baking pan and freeze until firm. Makes 1-1/2 quarts.
