Swedish Hardtack

2/3 cup sugar
2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 stick margarine (or substitute some butter)
1/2 cup boiling water with 1 tsp. baking soda

Add water, soda mixture to margarine to melt it. Add dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Separate dough into 4 portions (or 5 if smaller cookie sheet) and place portion of dough on greased cookie sheet and roll out as thin as possible. Prick with tines of fork or roll over dough with knobby rolling pin. Cut rolled out dough into cracker sized pieces with pastry wheel or knife.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Complete rest of dough the same way.
