Walnut Sour Cream Cake
Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream
Directions
Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat well. Add the dry ingredients and the sour cream a third at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat until smooth.
Spread half of the batter in a well greased and floured 9x12x2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the filling/topping mixture (recipe below). Spread the remaining batter on top, and again sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 of filling/topping mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until a knife comes out clean when inserted in center of cake.
Filling/Topping
Ingredients
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions
Make filling/topping by mixing all of the filling/topping ingredients together until evenly combined.
