Wishing Well Cake

Ingredients
1 cup soft margarine
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

Directions
Using an electric mixer blend together the margarine and sugar in a large bowl. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in the almond extract and salt.

Gradually add the flour and blend into the creamed mixture. Turn the batter into an ungreased 10-inch tube cake pan.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour 20 minutes or until the cake tests done (test by inserting a toothpick, if it comes out clean then the cake is done).

Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes in the pan then turn out and cool completely. If desired, invert the cake and spread the top with confectioners' sugar glaze. Or serve plain with ice cream, fruit or whipped cream.
