Nesselrode Sauce
Ingredients
8 oz. canned cherries in syrup
1/2 cup chopped candied fruit
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1/2 cup chopped candied ginger
1/2 cup dark rum
Directions
Place all ingredients in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the fruit is cooked through and the sauce is thick, about 5 to 10 minutes. Store the sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
This sauce is great over ice cream and is a part of the recipe for Nesselrode Pie.
