Oatmeal Cake

Ingredients
1-1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions
Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal and allow to sit for 20 minutes.

Cream the sugars and butter together. Add the eggs and beat well. Add the vanilla, cooled oatmeal, then the flour, baking soda and chopped nuts.

Spoon the batter into a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until the cake tests done.
