Pecan Dressing
Ingredients
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup chopped parsley
1-1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 tbsp. ground sage
1 pkg. (16 oz.) cornbread stuffing mix
4 cups whole wheat bread crumbs (about 8 slices)
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Saute the celery, green pepper and onion in butter in a large skillet until soft. Stir in the parsley, poultry seasoning, sage, cornbread stuffing mix, whole wheat bread crumbs and chicken broth. Stir to mix thoroughly. Stir in the pecans. Spoon into a buttered 12-cup baking dish.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
