Shell Bark Cake
Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped hickory nuts (or walnuts)
4 tbsp. milk
3 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1-3/4 cups flour
Directions
In a mixing bowl blend together the shortening, sugar and eggs. Add the chopped nuts and milk. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together then fold in gradually. Beat vigorously. Transfer the cake batter into a greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
