Snicker Cake

Ingredients
1 box German Chocolate Cake mix
1 package (14 oz.) caramels
1 stick butter
1/3 cup milk
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup pecans

Directions
Prepare the cake mix as directed on the package. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, melt the caramels, butter and milk together in a double boiler.

Remove the cake from the oven and pour the caramel mixture over it. Top with chocolate chips and pecans. Dot the remaining cake batter over the top and return the cake to the oven at 250 degrees for 20 minutes, then increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.

The cake can be frosted or topped with your favorite frosting recipe.
