Strawberry Nut Salad
Ingredients
2 pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin
1 cup boiling water
2 packages (10 oz. each) frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
1 can (1 lb 4 oz.) crushed pineapple
3 medium bananas, mashed
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 pint sour cream
1 head of lettuce
Directions
Prepare gelatin mixture by dissolving in the boiling water. Add the strawberries, pineapple, bananas and nuts. Pour half of this mixture into a flat 12x8x2 inch casserole dish, refrigerate to let set thoroughly. Leave remaining gelatin mixture out at room temperature.
When the first portion of the gelatin mixture is thoroughly chilled and set, spread on sour cream, then gently add the rest of the gelatin mixture. Chill thoroughly. Serve on lettuce leaves. Serves 12.
