Shoebox Recipes Blog

Once again I have been redesigning the main site (Shoebox Recipes). It will be not be ready for some time to come, perhaps a couple of months as there are hundreds of pages to be edited. However, this blog has been transformed into the new design so you can get a little bit of a sense of what is in store. Sort of a sneak peak!

With the new design there will be a few small improvements. The navigation will have descriptive text that will show when you hold your mouse over each link, giving you an idea of what is to be found within each area of the site. Over time I hope to add this feature extensively, but for starters it will be only on the primary navigation.

I have debated with myself whether or not to bring back links between each page in a subsection and I have yet to make a final decision. I don’t really know if it is all that useful and it is a real headache to keep updated as the site grows. And the site will continue to grow for a very long time to come as my own collection of recipes seems to be on fast forward.

Chicken Divan is the latest recipe for chicken that has been added to Shoebox Recipes. It is a delightful combination of sliced cooked chicken, broccoli, white sauce and Parmesan cheese. Check it out!

One of the most basic cake recipes has just been added: Angel Food Cake.

I’m not really sure if anyone noticed its absence, but I did. Angel food cake is used as a part of so many other desserts that knowing how you can make your own must be useful to more than just myself. Enjoy it as a cake made from scratch is truly special.
